As you browse through this section you will find some of the best homemade cake recipes from the greatest moms I have known. Most of these recipes are from scratch and some will be quick and easy to make for your family, office party or a birthday party.
These recipes are the ones that I have collected over the last 50+ years and they are among my favorite. Every cake recipe that I have tried I've really enjoyed and so has my family.
There were so many great cooks that have helped me during my younger married days and provided me with the tools I needed to help me be a better homemaker for my family. I also wanted any and all quick & easy recipes for my family and friends. I worked outside the home and didn't want to spend anymore time in the kitchen after supper than I had to. Tip:
How to make buttermilk when you don't have any on hand.
Mix 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of sweet milk.
Let sit 5 minutes.
